DUSTBOMBERS

Dustbombers is a post-punk duo from Arnhem/Nijmegen, blending raw, heavy sounds with elements of noise and psychedelia. Their music is a dark and intense fusion that echoes the atmosphere of bands like Whispering Sons, The Murder Capital, and adds a gritty edge reminiscent of post-metal and alternative rock.

Founded in 2012 by Joost Reijnders and Erik Drost, Dustbombers quickly developed a sound defined by haunting, dystopian lyrics, crushing bass lines, and aggressive guitar work. Their music is often unsettling, with an emphasis on creating an immersive, almost ominous atmosphere. As one review of their debut album put it:

"...songs like The Guard and And Beyond are cold, dark, and unnervingly eerie. The vocals and sci-fi samples haunt the tracks, melding with the abrasive guitar to create a sound that feels both unsettling and captivating."

Dustbombers has played alongside acts like Tera Melos and released a series of EPs, including the Public Beta EP, which was nominated for EP of the Year by 3voor12Gelderland in 2015. Their debut album, Dustbombers, released in 2016, was met with critical acclaim:

After several quieter years, Dustbombers came back in 2021 with new material, beginning with the release of the Mission to Mars EP in May 2021. The EP was recorded and mixed in their Arnhem studio and mastered by Alan Douches (known for his work with Mastodon, Torche, and Chelsea Wolfe). The Mission to Mars EP presents four new tracks, continuing the band's commitment to exploring dark and intense sonic territories.
